Pastoral Loneliness

This is the first article of a four part series (so far), sharing how a pastor’s suicide points to how deeply lonely the pastoring experience can be. Henry Nouwen wrote about the two wounds: professional loneliness and personal loneliness. It is a sobering topic. The fact is, no one can take care of another person’s heart. Each has to take responsibility for the health of their soul.

Ideas to Implementation

Tim Schraeder’s notes on Charles Lee, CEO of Ideation, from Cultivate 11. I hope the audio from these are available soon.

The Church Planter

Mark Driscoll talks about the call of a person that feels called to start a new church. He outlines the necessity of a calling on the life of a church planter, he presented twelve questions to ask in confirming the call.

Missional Neighboring

This is a video of Jeff Vanderstelt, from Soma Communities, talking about their passion for neighboring well.

Just For Fun – Actually, I don’t know how fun this is. It is more creepy. I thought this was such a real metaphor, though, of people that have not matured in areas of life. Looking at those areas through this lens makes one realize just how sad it is to not grow up.
